Lord Stow’s egg tarts …

… are not for the faint of heart.

As the story goes, Englishman Andrew Stow replaced the traditional Portuguese egg tart’s filling of flour and water with fresh cream. As if egg yolks in the center, caramelized sugar on top, and butter-infused flaky pastry all around weren’t enough to put you in a coma.
